Who steals a garbage can?

I opened our shed to find the big wheeled garbage can missing. Last week I was in a rush, so bypassed the shed completely, leaving just the garbage bag on the curb, so it's likely that the thing's been gone for two weeks. Did I forget to bring it in? Did they think that because it was on the curb that it WAS garbage? Did someone happen to be walking by thinking "Man, $17 is pretty steep for a garba-waheyyyyyy look at THAT slick beauty!" Did our neighbours always have the same bin as us?

Do the neighbours currently have a bin that is not dissimilar from the one which is no longer in your possession? Or was that just for comedic effect?

I am terrified that someone is going to steal our recycling bin, because we put our garbage and recycling out on the street every Thursday evening (after 6 PM) and we live on the "main drag" in bustling Smiths Falls. We put our trash out in bags, but the recycling guys will only stop if they see the "blue box." I'm convinced that either someone will purloin that which we have left out in good faith, or that hooligans will make sport of (for want of a better word) trashing it.

No, they've got the same Rubbermaid bin at the head of their driveway, but it's a common Home Depot stocked item. Next time I'm totally writing our address on it in permanent marker.

I noticed that bin yesterday too :) Are you also going to write "do not steal! or else!" on it? hehe

Get the oldest, crappiest garbage can with no wheels and then nail a board where the wheels should be (for balance, you know) and no way will it get stolen. Ask your parents. We have extras
